July 2025 is dedicated to Rotary International's focus on Maternal and Child Health, highlighting the significance of ensuring the health of mothers and children globally. Key points include:

President's Report
I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead.
This week there is NO GENERAL MEETING. The Board will be meeting at 6.30pm on Tuesday and as is usual members are invited to attend if they would like more insight into the function of the Board.
At last week’s meeting, we were treated to an interesting and enjoyable guest presentation by lawyer, Cameron Spanner who spoke to a number of matters essential to proper Estate Planning.
Cameron provided a lot of detail on things that people often overlook or are not aware of when think forward to what will occur once they are no longer here, and in particular the importance of ensuring wills are drawn in such a way that those to benefit from an Estate actually receive what is intended. I certainly found the presentation thought provoking and informative.
On Saturday, the 5 for 5 raffle was drawn at the Springwood Country Club. We started the evening with dinner, and it was fantastic to have 19 of us there for a bit of fellowship and good humoured conversation. The results of the raffle have been posted on the Club’s Facebook page and I congratulate our winners. A big thanks goes to those who initiated and organised the raffle and then sold the 2,000 tickets. As you know Valda was a driving force in selling to the public both at the Winmalee Village Shopping Centre and Blooms Pharmacy, Springwood. I know the funds raised from the raffle will make a real difference to the organisations we support.
The Club provided a sausage sizzle at the Hub on Wednesday for the school holidays – Youth Day Out. To say it was a popular event would be an understatement. Well before our scheduled start time of 12md, we had a long line of hungry children, parents, and grandparents (plus a number of locals just looking for a satisfying free lunch.) We sold all that we had in stock and needed to ask Bev to go to IGA for four more loaves of bread. The organiser Blue Mts Council were amazed at the numbers and had underestimated the turn out. I think it speaks to the current times, where family budgets are tight and a free day out for the kids where lunch is provided was certainly well received. My thanks to Bruce, Susette, Geoff, Johannes, Frank and Bev for making this a very successful event.
This coming Saturday we have the Bunning BBQ, and I thank the members and friends of the Club who volunteered quickly to cover the two shifts.

4. Middle East Area of Operations/Middle East Region Commemoration, Friday 24/7/26
This is an RSLNSW initiative: “The MEAO commemoration will honour those ADF personnel who served in conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan during 2001 – 2021.”
The title of our commemoration is MEAO/MER as many of our members served in the Middle East before, during and after the above dates.
On behalf of the Springwood RSL Sub-Branch I invite you to attend our Commemoration.
This will be held at Springwood War Memorial, commencing at 4:30pm.
