The Rotary Club of Springwood hosts a " Meals from the Heart " each year for the residents of Ronald McDonald House - Westmead where our team of members will cook and provide food for the parents and siblings who are staying in the house.
We have been privileged the past few years to host the dinner in July and as so we have themed our dinners  -  Christmas in July.   The club members contribute  sweets,  decorations and their cooking and cleaning skills for the night.  Members get to the house early to get started with preparation and cooking .  While some are the cooking crew another crew get started with decorating the dining room with Christmas garlands and trinkets.
This was our first meal from the Heart at the NEW Ronald McDonald House - Westmead... and WOW !  what a place......
Ronald McDonald House Westmead is a place where family members can stay when their children are being treated at the Childrens Hospital - Westmead.
The new house has 60 rooms .  The home can cater for up to 200 + individuals  - which is the amount of people we prepare the meal for.
