Not a lot of news this week as we had a Public holiday fall on our meeting night, but it's good to keep updated.
The Murrurundi great Train Journey - Without the train...... the trip is still on, we now have 17 members & friends coming with us on the day, I still a few seats left for any late arrivals. I have booked a 25 seater minibus for us & saved a whopping $200 on the hire after I mentioned who we were & what our trip was about. Fantastic news!!!!
I submitted the risk assessment & associated documentation for approval by the district's Insurer.... the good news is we received approval this week.
It's going to be a great day out & more importantly we are supporting a small Rotary Club on their fundraising day, it makes you feel good when you have a nice day out & help another club out of their predicament, don't you think?
As you know Nev has been in hospital for some time now after his fall, when talking to him on Sunday he was looking forward to coming home on Tuesday, but now he has been transferred to Toronto Private Hospital rehabilitation centre for another two weeks. If anyone has time he would love to hear from you & would more than welcome a visit. he did tell me that in the first week he lost 14kg, we won't know him now!
David has been keeping a close eye on the situation & keeping me updated, I heard Gerry has been out to visit again, Thanks Gerry!
At our last meeting a few hands went up to assist Bob C with the proposed BBQ in town, unfortunately I can't attend now.
I gather it is at Fort Scratchley with a start time of 6.00am, if you need more information give Bob a tingle. As Procare is organising the event you should be covered by their insurances on the day, just make sure you sign in on arrival.
Looks as if we are in for a good range of guest speakers for the next few weeks, looking forward to hearing from them.
Anne is back from her extended holiday can't wait to hear all about it & see some pictures, don't know when can fit you in now!
Board meeting on Monday night followed by a Club Assembly.
Off to East Maitland on Sunday with Bob Main for my second day of RLI learning, it's quite a bit to take in but a good learning experience........ all Board Members should attend these weekends as it would help greatly in understanding the broad spectrum of Rotary today. Something to think about.
Run out of news for this week, for those who read this if you would like to make a contribution I would be happy to add it to the newsletter for you, it's all about keeping the lines of communication open. So, how about it?
p.s. I think I''ll leave a couple of mistakes in for the eagle eyes!
