Empower Future Leaders

Earning her degree in supervision management technology and biochemistry from Purdue University, Ava has experienced first hand the benefits of being exposed to technology at a young age. Ava participated in the Minority Engineering Advancement Program, ACT-SO science fairs, and Summer enrichment science programs as a child. This exposure was pivotal academically from middle school going towards her future acceptance into college. She has worked within the pharma, biotech, and the life sciences industry from Fortune 500 companies to startups. Her passion for this venture centers around her effort to empower more girls and underrepresented kids to pursue technical careers.

Treobytes is a nonprofit that is helping to create a vocational pathways for students, particularly young women and underrepresented learners, into STEM fields. By inspiring a passion for technology and teaching the necessary 21st century skills, Treobytes is building a future ready workforce. Treobytes provides early exposure to careers in STEM with an emphasis in IT and the certifications or credentials into those careers. These programs are provided within the learners communities through after-school enrichment programs, daily programs within local schools, intersession camps, and workshops at nearby local colleges.

Treobytes pays it forward to students and their families through a culture of mentorship. Treobytes recruits and mentors facilitators through partnerships with Mesa College, SDSU, and UCSD. These students are either current college students or recent graduates majoring in a STEM discipline. All students live locally, and reflect the diverse audience we serve. Treobytes trains and provides soft skills sought by employers along with technical experience not provided within their academic settings. This model provides the support for young learners to continue exploring their STEM interest.
