Our Little Club has been busy this week.  We learned from Dan that one of his students at Del Lago was affected by the recent water main break in Escondido.  His Dad is a Vet and his family’s home was flooded after the pipe broke on their street.  They were relocated to a hotel after their home flooded and two days later, their home burned down and they lost most of their belongings.  The Mom and Dad have four children including an adorable one-month old baby boy.  There were four generations living in the home since the Dad’s mom and grandmother also lived there and one is suffering from dementia while the other one, who is a breast cancer survivor, is now suffering from brain cancer.  They were in need of food cards and our board approved a $500 emergency fund to purchase restaurant cards since they can’t cook in the hotel room.  We met his student’s mom at a laundromat with a little play area where the kids were able to play while their mom washed the laundry.

THANK YOU, KELA for coordinating the approvals and Dan for purchasing the cards.
