Ron Lee, founder of Skydiving Innovations, has developed, managed and performed on nearly 500 aerial demonstrations since 1986. He brings his remarkable perspective about the value of risk, struggle and failure as necessary precursors to personal and professional success.
SD Coastal Rotary is family-friendly and kids are always welcome. Guests can let us know if they'll be attending throughRSVP on Facebook.

December 1st 7:30 am-9:30 am in downtown we are volunteering with Serving Seniors.
Serving Seniors' mission is to help seniors in poverty live healthy and fulfilling lives. As part of this work, Serving Seniors serves nearly 600,000 meals each year across 9 congregate dining sites and delivery to 500+ homebound seniors. Our club will assist with breakfast service which includes assisting seniors in wheelchairs and walkers, helping with coffee service, and assisting with clean up.
Metered parking or a paid lot is available near the center. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
We'll want to have a rough count of volunteers by November 14, but last-minute additions are ok.
Here is a nice article written by the organization, S.H.E, that donated money to help buy the mother of the Alshahhoud family, Raouaa, a car. They did an interview and wrote a nice article for their newsletter.
La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club will be hosting Rotary International President Barry Rassin at their January 11, 2019 meeting at 7am. This is an extreme honor and privilege, and they are extending an invitation to our club to join us that morning.
The goals is to get as many Rotarians and guests there as possible, so spread the word!
The meeting will be held at the Braille Institute (UTC), so they can accommodate everyone. The cost for breakfast is $25 per person.
The Pacific Beach Rotaract has requested our assistance in matching some of their members with some volunteers in our club to serve as their mentors. The time commitment is up to you and the mentee, but it would be great if you'd be willing to meet with one of individuals listed below approximately once a month. Their names and their experience/goals are included below:
Derren Lechuga-Human Resources or Insurance, Rotary
Anthony De Guzman-government (all levels), non-profit, political science (Match with Michael Mena)
Tanya Pulley-non-profit (starting one)
Jessie Case-non-profit (management)
Maddison Larson-develop career goals (has Mechanical engineering/US Navy background)
Paloma Samano-Mental Health/Community Outreach (Match with Michael Mena)
For their full profile, please ask Michael or Satoko. If you have any of the experience they are looking for, it would be great if you could meet with them! Its also perfectly ok if they are matched with more than one mentor. Let Michael or Satoko know and they will reach out to PB Rotaract. This is a great opportunity to have a direct impact on someone else's career and personal goals!
Sarah Bradford has invited our club to go to her home next Saturday, November 17th at 2pm, for some grilling, drinks, and backyard lounging in North Park. Sarah and her fiance Josh wanted to host a meal for Jean Paul, our Rotarian scholar from Rwanda, and they'd love for you to join us. They plan on grilling up some chicken and sausages and hanging out in their backyard. They'll kick things off at 2pm, but you can stop in at any point. Feel free to invite others!
We're so happy that you're interested in our club and want you to have all the latest details of our upcoming events!
