Jenny would like to propose a new service project to serve lunch to our Hands of Peace kids at the end of their program on Sunday July 28. The kids will have just finished their closing ceremony after 3 weeks of dialogue and peace building. It’s a very interesting time to meet these kids from two sides of a very intense conflict. Raouaa, our Syrian mom will make lunch and bring it. The meal is paid for so our service is to just unload, set up, serve and clean up for about 75 people. Jenny hopes we could get a quick frisbee game in but they will mostly like to just talk. It will take place at Pacific heights school in Carlsbad from about 11:30 - 1:30 and include lunch. It will give us time with the Hands of Peace kids-our district grants have supported the program. It will also give us time with our Alshahhoud family as a couple of the kids will come to help too. More info to follow.
