Rotarian of the Year - Bill Pommering


Bill is always focused on what is best for our club and willing to put in the time to make it happen.
 


 

  • He shows up early to meetings to help with check in and make guests feel welcome

  • Is a regular volunteer at club events

  • Always ensures there is change available at meetings

  • Completes and distributes our yearly renewal forms

  • Sends in all Rotary International and District dues/PolioPlus contributions/Paul Harris points

  • Organizes and collects funds for many of our club events

  • Collects and distributes funds for our fundraisers (including grants, local events and special projects)

  • Prepares, updates and presents monthly treasurer reports at meetings

  • Calls to check on members who he has not seen in a while

  • Investigates questions with banks, bylaws, former Rotarians, the city, and any other entity that we need him to contact

  • Is a financial supporter of all club fundraisers and events

  • PowerPoint maker extraordinaire

  • Funny collection drive name originator

  • Regular interviewer for Gordon Zucker, RYLA and Scholar programs, as well as presenter of awards

  • Zoom meeting screen sharing host extraordinaire.



But even more importantly, Bill is a true gentleman, a kind-hearted, caring person, willing to help anyone who asks – he always says yes, is a member of the Santee community that constantly gives back through public service and donation of his time to local charities and organizations, is a lover of cars, big band and formerly Arnold Palmers, a snappy dresser and a wonderful friend to Rotary.
