Bio-Stephanie Chapel Yoo
Stephanie Chapel Yoo has been a YMCA member since the day she was Born (51 years). Her father landed his first YMCA job right out of college at the Beverly Hills YMCA and worked for the YMCA for over 44 years before retiring in 2010 as the COO for the YMCA of San Diego County. Stephanie has worked her entire professional career (30 years) in the non-profit sector with the YMCA of San Diego County and the YMCA of Santa Clara Valley.

Stephane is currently the Regional Executive Director for the East Count YMCA’s providing leadership and oversight to the Cameron Family YMCA in Santee, the John A. Davis Y in La Mesa and the McGrath YMCA in Rancho San Diego a position she has held since January 2021. Prior to her current position, she was the Executive Director for the Cameron Y, Executive Director for the Mottino YMCA in Oceanside, Associate Executive at the Ecke Y in Encinitas and Executive Manager for the Toby Wells YMCA in Kearny Mesa. Stephanie is a graduate of LEAD San Diego Cohort 2019 with the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and former
Board Member of the San Diego Autism Society. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Liberal Studies, was a Division I Collegiate Athlete for the Aztecs playing softball while earning her degree.

Stephanie lives in University City with her husband Steve of 21 years and has two daughters, Samantha (19) and Madison (15). Samantha is a sophomore at UC Davis on an athletic scholarship playing Division I water polo studying Human Biology and Madison is a sophomore in high school and enjoys playing volleyball and water polo. Stephanie enjoys developing and coaching her staff, providing innovative programs to support the community and raising money to provide scholarships to those in need. A program that she is most proud of that she helped to developed over 21 years ago is, CAMP I CAN; a day camp program for children with autism. When not working Stephanie enjoys spending time with her immediate and extended family, the beach, camping and her annual trip with 10 of her former Aztec teammates celebrating over 33 years of friendships.
