Dustin Trotter, Council Member City of Santee
Santee Veterans Memorial

Dustin Trotter is a business owner who built his company from the ground up through hard work and dedication.  He brings that same level of commitment to his numerous volunteer works dedicated to the betterment of the City of Santee. Starting his career in carpentry at the age of 18 he quickly learned the trade moving into foreman by the age of 21. At 26 Dustin founded Trotter Door and Trim in 2006.

Over the past 20 years, through hands on management and close customer and vendor relationships, Dustin has developed the company into one of the premier general contracting firms in Santee.

Dustin has an extensive community advocate and volunteer record. He is an active member of the Santee Santa’s program, Santee Food bank, Guardian Angels Church, Santee Parks and Recreation Committee (SPARC), and an appointed member of the Community Oriented Policing Committee (COMPOC).

Born in Santee, San Diego to a hard working blue collar family, his mom working in various sales jobs and his dad owning a pizza parlor, Dustin had to start working at a very young age. Starting work at age 13 and picking up a second job by 16, Dustin quickly learned what it meant to be on time, have integrity, honesty, and loyalty. Values that he still embodies today in business and in daily life.

When he is not working or volunteering he spends time with his family; wife Genny and kids Kayla and Jaden. They enjoy quiet family time and of course attending the fairs and festivals in Santee like the concert in the park series.

Dustin has deep roots in Santee.  He has worked hard to improve his community over the years and now wants to give back in a bigger way. He is committed to running for this office only and remaining a part of the community he loves.
