Fellow Rotarians,
Due to the severe circumstances related to the current and future fire conditions surrounding us, THE THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12TH ROTARY MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED. I have conferred with Board members and listened to the most up-to-date new conference on the Sonoma County conditions and we all agree that this is the most prudent course of action for the following reasons:
1. The weather conditions are expected to worsen overnight with high winds that will exacerbate the current fires and may start new ones.

2. First responders will continue to be on the roads responding to all situations, so any unnecessary travel is discouraged. Bottom line: Stay put for safety, your own health conditions and keeping the roads clear for fire, police and medical responders.
3. A lot of us are still volunteering at evacuation centers, helping family, friends, and business clients with the current situation. These are priority ONE issues for many people right now.
Please share this information with any of your fellow club members who may not check emails on a regular basis. I’ll be up at the club tomorrow to let people know, should they not get the word.
Also, please be sure to follow the most current updates that we are posting on our web site under the URGENT-Sonoma County Fires link on the top of the Home Page.
With all that’s going on, I wanted to thank everyone for the amazing amount of help, support and challenging work you’re all doing on behalf of so many people in need. The area is still in an emergency situation, so our help will be needed for weeks and months to come. As Rotarians, we will always be there for people whenever and wherever they need us.

*** SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13TH - FRIENDSHIP FEAST POSTPONED ***
Hi friends,
With all that is going on in our County right now, We have decided to postpone the Friendship Feast scheduled for Saturday evening. Onita is housing family that have been evacuated from Santa Rosa and I am sure many of you are helping friends, families and strangers through this horrific tragedy.
Next week when we have a better idea of how Sonoma County will heal and rebuild from this disaster, we will reach out to each of you to confirm a date that works for all of us.

Advisory: No re-entry or escorts into evacuation areas
The Sheriff's mandatory evacuation order applies to everyone. There are no exceptions. These areas are very unsafe due to hot spots, downed power lines, etc. We are not offering escorts to properties within the evacuation zones.
We understand this is a very difficult time. We're doing everything we can to get you back to your homes as soon as it's safe. Thank you for your patience.

Advisory: Petaluma Police Department Update

***There are currently NO voluntary or mandatory evacuation orders in the City of Petaluma***
The Petaluma Emergency Operations Center is actively monitoring the fire activity. We want to remind you that there is an increased risk of fire affecting our area due to the red flag weather warnings issued for today. This is due to the fires located to the northeast of Petaluma, as well as the concern over the wind. This is NOT an evacuation order; however we want residents to be prepared if an evacuation order is given. Petaluma residents, especially on the east side of Sonoma Mountain Parkway, should be prepared to leave if an order is given. The shelters in Petaluma are nearing capacity, and can only accommodate an additional 300 people. The Petaluma EOC is currently working with the Sonoma County EOC to determine resources available in Marin County for shelters in case the need arises.
