The #Petaluma People Services Center SHARE Sonoma County is arranging for Emergency Home Shares in Sonoma County. Based on their successful homeshare model, they are hoping to be able to find temporary housing for those displaced by the fire. 

If you are willing to host an evacuated individual or family in your home for a few days, few weeks or few months, please contact PPSC SHARE Sonoma County at SHAREfire@petalumapeople.org, an information sheet and application will be sent to your immediately. 

If you are looking for short term temporary shared housing, please contact SHAREfire@petalumapeople.org, for more information and an application, or contact PPSC 707-765-8488. 

 

If you want to volunteer to help with the phones, they need assistance starting at 7:00 a.m. on this morning at PPSC's main office, 1500 Petaluma Blvd. South, Petaluma. Please email or call if you can volunteer.

Dear Community Members,

The City of Petaluma Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues to manage shelter activities in the Petaluma area.  At this time the shelters in our area are properly staffed and have plenty of supplies.    The EOC continues to receive calls from community members for volunteers and others wishing to donate supplies.  We are grateful for the community support but the needs at the shelters are currently being met. 

The Petaluma EOC continues to communicate with the Sonoma County EOC and they are reporting the same information at their center.  If any needs arise in the Petaluma area we will notify the community via Nixle or other social media platforms.  If you are not a Nixle subscriber, text your zip code to 888777 to receive updates from regional public safety agencies.

City of Petaluma Emergency Operations Center
Fire Evacuation Shelter Update
Petaluma, California – The City of Petaluma EOC continues to support County of Sonoma EOC operations with the management of shelter facilities in Petaluma for residents evacuated from the fire.   As of 1400 hours today, the City of Petaluma EOC is supporting four shelter facilities at Lucchesi Community Center, Petaluma Veteran’s Hall, Petaluma Fairgrounds, and Cavanaugh Center.  These shelters are being supplemented and coordinated with additional shelters hosted by five Petaluma faith based organizations which include Church of Christ, Calvary Chapel, Adobe Christian Church, New Life Christian Church, and Petaluma Methodist. 
New evacuees should go to the Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds for shelter until further notice.
 
The most accurate count of those evacuated to and staying at the Petaluma shelters is approximately 1,655 people.  The needs of these shelters for both volunteers and supplies are being coordinated through the EOC.  We continue to receive calls from numerous community members wanting to volunteer to help or deliver supplies.  We want to ask anyone wanting to help to monitor social media and the local news.  Current needs are being met, but this event will create long term needs and we ask that you hold onto your donations.  It may seem helpful but space is limited and excessive donations create logistical challenges for staff to receive and safely store supplies that are not currently needed.
