TREE PLANTING PROJECT KICKS OFF IN FINE STYLE

Saturday, April 14.....A group of Rotarians assembled at Lucchesi Park, with shovels, rakes and their brauns, to help kick off the tree planting project with a big assist from Mother Nature under sunny skies and a beautiful Spring Day. The project, funded through a District Matching Grant, will add to the beauty of our city parks.

Four city workers led the charge of planting 35 trees in the area in and around the Park, the future home of the Miracle League.
Included among the Rotarian volunteers were co-site leaders, Larry Jonas and Michael Caruana, Chris Ranney, Anne Gealta, along with her visiting friend Brenda Dunn, Judy McReynolds, Jerrie Patterson, Brandon Trammell, his wife and two young daughters who cheered from the sidelines and Mike Ambrosio. Lucas Berry, from St. Vincent’s, Hi and Zach Kelly (Mike A’s grandson) from St. Vincent’s Elementary School willingly assisted for service hours.

The volunteers were treated to early morning coffee and doughnuts and a workmen’s lunch catered at the site, courtesy of the ever thoughtful, Chris Ranney.
