When Jennifer Strong walked onto the stage at the McClellan Conference Center to open the Annual District 5130 Conference held this past weekend, we knew we were about to feel…. “Where Dreams Take Flight’…. And true to form the dynamic Jennifer never wavered!  Under District Governor, Bob Roger's guidance, she kept the conference “flying” at a pace we all appreciated.

While focusing on the theme that… One person’s idea can make a HUGE difference… we proved that over 300 Rotarians and friends can make a successful conference.  That we did!

From the informative plenary sessions covering the Future of Rotary to Club Awards, to the sharing of ideas and the “Hands on” support we managed to enjoy successful flights to various ports.

Of course, for the Petaluma Rotary Club in attendance, the “Piece De Resistance” came when Governor Rogers gleefully announced or very own club president Chris Ranney as the “Rotarian of the Year” to a standing ovation.  His achievements were spelled out by Rogers… while all of us knew that no one was more deserving then Chris, our leader who always leads by example and direct participation… A true trooper!
In addition our club took home the following 5 awards!

When the group of extremely talented artists know as Transcendence flew onto the stage in song to conclude day two festivities, we left for the evening on a high knowing our dreams within Rotary were alive and well.  The mixture of many young Rotaracts in attendance are testament to that. --- They are the future of Rotary.

If you haven’t attended a District Conference yet, may we suggest you circle May 17-19, 2019 when four districts from Nor/Cal & Nor/Nev are joining forces to host a conference at the Peppermill Resort in Reno. (Districts 5130, 5150, 5160 and 5190)
