Everyone feated on food from various regions of Ukraine.  There were many vendors from Ukraine selling beauitful items.  Entertainment was provided by Erratic City, Acapella, Ivanna Tarantulo Filipenko and the Juggs.
Membership Chair, Kristen Myburgh inducted Phil Henry (left) and Jeff Dorais (center) in September.  
 
Phil is a former member of the Rotary Club of Berkeley where he served as club president in 2012-2013.  Our club reaps the benefit of Phil's retirement and relocation to Petaluma.  Phil, an architect and his wife Anna moved to the area to be near their daughter and grandchildren. 
 
Jeff Dorais, a realtor with Luxe International enjoys spending time with his wife Donna and their dog Parker as well as cooking, playing the drums, Pickle Ball, tasting wine and travel.

Another great day at the Petaluma Golf and Country Club!  Members and guests gathered for delicious tri-tip sandwichs before teeing off at 1 pm.  Throughout the day golfers took advantage of the beautiful weather to turn in low scores.

Martin and Sigge Stengard, father and son, were visiting from Sweden recently and
shared their inspiring story at the newly-renovated Polly Klaas Community Theater
(https://www.pollyklaastheater.org) at a Petaluma Rotary meeting on July 20 th .
Together they told their story of when the family received the devastating diagnosis for
Sigge of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (or DMD) when he was about 2 ½ years old.
His twin sister, Hedde, was not affected as DMD primarily affects males.
DMD is a progressive muscle disease that slowly breaks down all the muscles in the
body leading to a significantly shorter life. There have been many advances in the
management of DMD, but there is currently no cure.
 

Petaluma Rotary Welcomes Lori Matthews Into The Club.

Taking the reigns at his first regular meeting, new president Mike Ferris inducted Lori Matthews in the club.  Lori was raised in San Francisco graduating from Santa Clara University.  Moving to Petaluma over 25 years ago, she has been actively involved in our community. 
 
Membership Chairperson, Kristen Myburgh presented Lori with her Rotary pin and membership pack.  Welcome Lori!  We look forward to your involvement in the club!

The Rotary Club of Petaluma is looking for partners for the Fund-a-Teen in Need initiative. Our goal is to provide assistance for teens whose home support system is unable to provide the everyday necessities that being a student in today's society requires.
