1.Chair – President George Carson opened the meeting by acknowledging that we are all Treaty 4 people and the Indigenous Peoples of all the lands that we are on today were here first. He then held a moment of silence on the one year anniversary of the terrorist attack in Israel.

2.Today’s program: Globe Theatre

Jennifer Brewin, Artistic Director and Heather Ervin, Director of Development announced that Globe Theatre is re-opening on November 27 after a massive 5-year renovation of the old Post Office building on the Scarth St Mall. Globe has kept the theatre-in-the-round but with many improvements in seating, accessibility and state of the art technology.

Founded in 1966, more than 50,000 patrons have attended Globe productions. Globe has had just 5 directors in that span of 58 years. This season there will be 4 productions: Peter Pan November 27 to December 22, Women of the Fur Trade February 5 to 23, Steel Magnolias March 26 to April 13 and Bring it On The Musical May 21 to June 8. In addition to the main stage productions, Globe is working with the Regina Symphony Orchestra to present 3 lunchtime concerts starting in February. Globe also has a theatre school for children through to adults.

Heather mentioned that Globe still has $6 million to go in their capital campaign. Naming opportunities are still available. Globe is the jewel of the downtown and contributes approximately $5 million per year to Regina’s economy.

Polio Plus dinner at Lees Chop Suey East, 200 Victoria Ave, on 29 October, organized by Eastview
A visit to Wayne Lorch’s car collection and Kathy’s Elvis collection on 2 November at 10am
Serving at Souls Harbour/Rescue Mission on 17 October.
Adventures in Agriculture is coming back. Billet hosts are needed starting 27 November to 1 December. Contact Doug Morton, Eastview Rotary.
Hams for Christmas, organized by Eastview Rotary. President George will email the order forms.
A moment of silence was held for former Rotarian Orville Off, who passed away recently.

The 50/50 pot of $236.50 was not won.
