In honour of the 100th anniversary of our club, the Regina Rotary Club is donating a total of $250,000 to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission towards the construction of a new facility.  CEO Joe Miller received the second installment cheque at the June 18th Rotary meeting. He reported the following update to the project:

Construction began October 2017 and is expected to be completed by the end of October 2018. A variety of green initiatives have been included in the passive design, which is a first for Regina and the first of its kind for a non-profit in Canada. The project is expected to finish on or below budget. When completed, the facility will house a men’s shelter of 24 emergency beds, a men’s skills development program, a women’s addiction program, an at risk youth centre, subsidized daycare with 114 spaces, 47 affordable housing suites and will serve 200-250 meals per day.

Joe thanked our Rotary Club for being a very important partner in this ambitious project.
