Kathleen Spatt, founding member and president of CARP, SK. described the work of the country’s largest advocacy group for older Canadians. At the national level, the advocacy group is working toward home care, community care, and long-term care reform, “best in class” vaccinations for seniors, and pension protection.
Here in Saskatchewan, the provincial chapter is also working on establishing an independent seniors’ advocate position (similar to the advocate for children and youth) to be a strong voice for seniors.
