Lorne Sparling received an Honorary Membership from the Rotary Club of Regina.
In attendance with him was his wife of 61 years, Carey, along with their daughter Leslie. Lorne and Carey have five children and 10 grandchildren, keeping them very busy!
Lorne is a life-long learner and after receiving two degrees, one in Farm Management and one in Education, he went on to receive his Master of Adult Education from the University of Toronto in 1971. Lorne had a celebrated career in the field of education and retired from the Ministry of Education. His work in the advancement of Adult Education in Saskatchewan was suitably recognized with the Roby Kidd award.
Lorne has been a member of our club for 30 years and a strong leadership volunteer. Congratulations Lorne.

Three new members were inducted:
- Patrick Duffy - sponsored by Lorne Sparling. Patrick is originally from Winnipeg and has been a Rotarian for 9 years.
- Kristin Grey – sponsored by Al Goudie. Kristen has been a pastor in the Salvation Army for more than 9 years and recently moved from Ontario to take the role of Executive Director in Regina, replacing former member Bruce MacKenzie.
- Ian Baker – transferred from the Winnipeg Downtown Rotary Club.
