Official Launch of the program is Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10 - Noon, Rotary Park in Regina. The United Way of Regina will have a Story Walk & give out a free book to each family.
The “Free Reading Program” is free for individuals in need and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Regina. Our program provides learners in reading levels K-6 with a comprehensive online studying tool, designed to reinforce fundamental reading skills. The program began as a project of a Rotary Club in Ontario, and now has over 400,000 students in 165 countries signed up.
Originally designed by literacy experts for use in school classrooms, it is now available for supplemental use for individuals, parents tutors, etc. The impact is diverse and widespread - from new English learners, to individuals looking for something to curb summertime learning loss, anyone is welcome to give the program a try.
The Free Reading Program online platform has been designed and developed to perform on a variety of internet browsers and devices. The sign-up process is simple and user-friendly. All that is required to create an account is access to the internet & an email address. Multiple individuals can be added to one account.
The learning platform is easy to navigate. Users simply create an account, then select a Level and click on a Unit to start learning. The platform tracks the individual’s progress and saves the last visited page so they can pick up right where they left off.
NO ads. NO pop-ups. NO promo emails. It’s just literacy.
