Access Communications Co-operative once again broadcasted the annual Rotary Christmas Carol Festival, but this year to a virtual audience. (Performances can be viewed again on December 25th on their Access Now TV channels.)
Hosted live by the Rotary Club of Regina, the festival aired for four nights and showcased the talents of Jeffrey Straker, Rory Allan, and the duo of Winsome Kind, as well as nostalgic performances from the festival’s 80-year history.
The festival, which dates back to 1941, was initially founded to entertain audiences, promote the advancement of choral groups and raise funds to help those less fortunate. It has been held at Knox Metropolitan United Church every year and will, for the first time, require virtual attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Festival provides an opportunity for people of all ages to perform and for audiences to be entertained. The Festival is also an important fundraiser allowing the Rotary Club of Regina to support families in need,” said Ian Toms co-chair of this year's festival.
The goal for this year was $15,000.
To date, we have raise $18,000.
THANK YOU TO THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE AND VOLUNTEERS.
