The Rotary Club of Regina was awarded a 2008 Presidential Citation from Rotary International President Wilf Wilkinson.
 
Regina's oldest service club earned new accolades. Members of the Rotary Club of Regina take understandable pride in a heritage of over 93 years of continuous community service. But they were even prouder when their 2008 achievements demonstrated their continued relevance and engagement in meaningful service to society.

Rotary International President, Wilf Wilkinson awarded the Rotary Club of Regina a Presidential Citation for demonstrating how Rotary Shares its talents, skills, energy and resources in order to create a better world. The Presidential Citation was presented in Saskatoon jointly by then District 5550 Governor June Cathcart and by RI President Wilkinson's personal representative, PDG Jay D. "Rocky" Jacobs. The Regina Club was the only local club so honoured that year.

Rotary International has been the lead global service organization since 1905, and today has over 1,200,00 members in almost 33,000 clubs around the world. Their most heralded recent enterprise has been the Polio Plus world partnership to eradicate polio. In 2008 the Rotary Shelter Box programme also gained particular prominence as a result of its superb effectiveness in responding to international emergencies in Myanmar and China.
