Seed-to-Table Program by Red Earth Movement
RedEarthMovement presents The seed to table program.
We will share the vision of the RedEarthMovement and how we are empowering our youth to establish food equity, cultural revitalization, health and wellness for our local native communities.
Adam Uribe, founder RedEarthMovement and Co-Director of the Seed-to-Table Program. Born and raised at San Pasqual Indian reservation inland San Diego county, Adam grew up farming organically and using native seeds passed down from his grandfather and father. Adam learned traditional ways of his elders like adobe red clay brick making and how to build ovens and houses from the red clay veins of MotherEarth. He has an extensive background in soil health and facilitating workshops that connect people to mother earth. Adam is currently being guided and coached in philanthropy by Javier Guerro, the CEO of Coastal Roots Farm. Learning from a formal nonprofit and established organic farm, he is learning more about the requirements of operating a program. Adam has begun implementing the seed to table program to the local reservations Pechanga, Campo, and San Pasqual tribal youth centers to establish gardens and native food growing ways. He continues to fulfill the mission of the RedEarthMovement “heal the land, heal the people”.
