From Climate Trauma to Resilience
Dr. Jyoti Mishra is a neuroscientist and Associate Professor in the department of Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego. She is the founder and director of the NEATLabs and the Co-director of University of California’s Climate Resilience Initiative. Dr. Mishra has led mindfulness studies for more than decade leveraging digital tools and community partnerships. She has studied the impacts of climate change on mental health with several publications cited by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and is actively involved in efforts to transform climate trauma into community resilience. Her climate-related research and teachings are widely acknowledged in the media including features in the BBC, CNN, TIME magazine, NPR, Washington Post, World Economic forum, and the Scientific American. Jyoti believes that tough challenges for humanity such as climate change provide the opportunity for inter-generational activism and resilience-building - her son recently presented his book Listen Up Kids! Our Climate is Changing at the Solana Beach Eco-rotary club.
