Having met in Gillette for several years due to a lack of suitable space in Berkeley Heights the Berkeley Heights Rotary Club is now meeting at Delicious Heights. Lunch meetings take place in the private room behind the bar area on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 12:15p. Please feel free to come and join us for lunch and "try us out". In this day and age of everyone being busy with work, family, extra-curricular activities it is hard to imagine having spare time to get involved. Honestly, it doesn't take lots of time to do some good things and make our community and world a better place for us and those that will come after us. Consider joining Rotary! Meetings are twice monthly and are attended by local residents and business people at Delicious Heights. Some of the projects the Berkeley Heights Rotary Club works on are college scholarships for graduating Governor Livingston Seniors, the Medic Alert Program which assists local senior citizens, sponsoring local Boy Scout Troops, the Luminary Project which raises money for several local organizations plus so much more. The Berkeley Heights Rotary Club presented four scholarships to graduating Governor Livingston Seniors at the Chimney Rock Inn on Wednesday, June 29. Four one thousand-dollar Rotary scholarships are awarded annually to students with a minimum 3.5 GPA and have participated in an extra-curricular service such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Interact Club, or other service organizations. The recipients of the 2022 scholarships are Ella Ferrigno, Isabella Straviou, Mei-Ching Huang and Thomas Burke.

At the Wednesday, February 9 meeting of the Berkeley Heights Rotary Club, Wayne Zuhl, Assistant District Governor addressed the membership. Zuhl's topic was the Rotary Foundation and how it works. The mission of the Foundation is to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment and alleviating poverty. Projects that Rotary is leading are eradicating Polio from the face of the earth, providing clean water in order to combat waterborne illness and launching antibullying campaigns and create a safe environment for children. The Rotary Foundation also provides grants to local clubs so they can continue their good deeds and assistance in their respective communities.
