Fellow Rotarian, Founder and Creative Director of CIVICSTORY.ORG, Dr. Susan Haig's aim is to broaden and deepen awareness of the transformative work of symphonic orchestras and other cultural civic organizations.

CIVICSTORY is an online news platform, founded in 2009, that has produced over 80 brief and highly watch-able videos on humanities and urban growth, environmental stewardship, engaged citizenship, and music and arts. More than 30 of these videos have aired on NJTV News and WHYY’s NewsWorks.org, in radio format on WBGO (Newark), and on local cable stations. Since 2010 CIVICSTORY has presented public forums and open dialogue exploring the civic role and purpose of news, and the impact of news media on democracy and our environment.

Enthusiastic, energetic, and engaging, Susan Haig is a passionate advocate of public access to the arts. Dr. Haig serves as a trustee of the National Music Museum, and Vice President-Programming for the New Jersey Chapter of the International Women’s Forum. She was voted 2006 Music Educator of the Year and received the honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities from the University of Windsor.
