The weather was beautiful for this year's Special Olympics softball tournament. The tournament was started by our Club over 10 years ago and became an annual event hosted in Burlington by the Burlington Recreation Department. Eight teams participated in this year's event, two from our club's Special Olympics program and six sponsored by other communities' Rotary Clubs. This annual event now brings over a hundred players, coaches, family members and spectators to our town to enjoy the game and the food and drinks provided free to them by our club.
Two of our club members manning the grill where delicious burgers and franks were barbecuing pleasure of the Special Olympians, their families visitors, and of course our own Club's members.
