Ada is looking forward to making friends and memories and sharing lots of new experiences. Ada is a young girl from Switzerland and late in August, she will come to the US for close to 10 months to experience life and learning right here in North Andover.

You can get involved as a HOST FAMILY for Ada or even help us find a match. In just a few weeks from now, Ada will be here.

In exchange, we will send a young North Andover student, Genevieve, who is going to Sweden to experience life there. We're super excited for both of these young students.

A little about Ada: Ada is 15 years old, turning 16 in January. Imagine the questions she must have traveling alone to another country at 15? Ada is a gifted linguist, speaks English, Spanish and German, and is now learning French.  She is interested in language, music, dance and sports.  Above all, Ada looks forward to a rewarding year in the U.S. learning about our culture and sharing her two cultures with her host families and the friends she will make.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED: (learn more)

You can be one of three (3) host families to host Ada in your home in our home town of North Andover. Each family hosts for about 3½ months, to provide Ada with different experiences over the course of the school year.  Ada will attend NAHS and participate in community activities to enrich her experience and open additional avenues for meeting others and forming bonds that can last a lifetime and sharing experiences that bring people closer together.

We ask families to open their hearts and their homes to welcome Ada as a member of their family, just as families in Sweden will welcome North Andover resident Genevieve.  Rotary is on hand to guide and assist every step of the way.

For more information, please contact North Andover Rotarian Bob Ford at rpf@fordlaw.net or 978-681-0066.

A little about Rotary Youth Exchange- RYE has offered opportunities for high school juniors/seniors to be part of an immersion program in cooperation with hosting Rotarians and their clubs in the receiving location and in exchange, has accepted incoming students like Ada for many years. The generosity and loving hearts of host families (parents and children) in North Andover make it possible to see this program thriving locally and changing lives for host families, students and friends.
