2017 Sophomores of the Year
Honored at a recent Kiwanis meeting were the six finalists in the Kiwanis Club Sophomore of the Year competition. Receiving recognition were, from left, Hannah Christianson (Robert E. Lee HS), Soham Datar (Goose Creek Memorial HS), Priscilla Garcia (Ross S. Sterling HS), Maria Gelves (IMPACTY Early College HS), Christian Rhodes (Barbers Hill HS), and Elizabeth Newport (Baytown Christian). Elizabeth was also name the Baytown Sophomore of the Year and Kiwanis Division 29 Sophomore of the Year. Her essay has been entered into the Texas-Oklahoma District finals with a chance of winning one of 20 scholarships at the T-O District convention in August.
