This past Saturday, at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, we held our twentieth annual Reverend Walter Murray Rotary Youth Leadership meeeting. Our meeting focuses on communication, problem solving by working together and especially with new people.
The meeting costs are totally covered by the Swampscott, Salem and Marblehead Rotary Clubs. Reverend Water Murray, the minister at Zion Baptist Church in Lynn and a Swampscott Rotarian, was the founder and creator of this meeting before passing away. We know Walter would be proud and pleased to know that his meeting is still being held.
The meeting was attended - and enjoyed- by 40 high school juniors from several schools in Lynn, Swampscott, Marblehead and Salem. We saw many smiles and laughs as the day progressed so we feel it was informative and fun!
