Since 1990, Mothers Helping Mothers, Inc., an all volunteer not-for-profit organization, has been providing basic necessities such as clothing for all family members, household goods and baby items free of charge to families in need through our store front in Sarasota. Additionally, we offer emotional support and on occasion, a one-time financial aid when applicable. |

Providing transportation to seniors and people with visual challenges in all of Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Staying engaged and connected is an important part of staying healthy! ITN SunCoast offers Let's Go Places! to encourage and support you to get out of the house and do things that you enjoy and that take advantage of the large number of offerings available in our beautiful area. Let's Go Places! provides an exciting monthly calendar of events and activities. You will be picked up at your home, share the ride with two or three friends or new acquaintances, go to the specified destination, and be given a ride home at the scheduled return time. Door-to-door, round-trip rides to scheduled activities are available at a very low cost. There are also rides available for free to certain events. The monthly calendar follows. Let’s Go Places! is open to anyone age 60+ or any adult of any age with a vision limitation living in the Sarasota, Bradenton, Osprey, Nokomis and Venice areas. Please make. |

The first of two June East Kiwanis Club meetings is Monday, June 10, 6:30 pm at McIntosh Middle School, , between Bahia Vista and Fruitville. The second meeting is June 24th. The East Club's Board met last week and approved starting BUGS at Brentwood Elementary School. Vice Principal Holly Brody will Chair the program. Also decided was Sarasota East's first fundraiser will be a corn hole tournament at Evie’s Tavern & Grill on Bee Ridge, 1:00 pm, Aug 3rd. (Members & volunteers are asked to report in at 11AM). $40/team (Team of 2 - $20 each, team required). Evie's is located at 4725 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL 34233, (941) 377-9300).

We will meet at 8:00 am at St Michael's Catholic Church, north parking lot. Trash bags, disposable gloves, and will have a few long handled pickers will be available. This usually takes about an hour, depending on the amount of trash on the road sides. Always a pleasant walk. Come, relax and do a good deed! |

The goal of the Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida is to assist in the process of empowering our patients toward self -management in order to be able to lead as close to a normal life as possible. With appropriate and effective diagnosis and treatment we regularly experience this outcome. According to a recent report from the Institute of Medicine (IOM), epilepsy is the nation’s fourth most common neurological disorder after migraine, stroke and Alzheimer’s disease. Epilepsy is a complex spectrum of disorders that affects millions of people in a variety of ways and is characterized by unpredictable seizures that differ in type, cause and severity. Living with epilepsy is much more than just seizures. Barbara’s presentation will include information about epilepsy and common seizure types, seizure first aid, treatment, symptoms, triggers, and driving laws. |

Mothers Helping Mothers (MHM) has purchased their building and is expanding operations into additional space within the building - no small effort. Drew Lowther has mobilized the Riverview Key Club to assist MHM Saturday October 5th and asks our Mighty Members to join them, showing support for BOTH our Key Club and MHM. This is an important work session so please add it to your calendar. There is plenty to do so come even if you can't make the 9:00 am start. The MHM retail store is located on the west side of Route 301, just south of University. |

The Downtown Club has invited our Mighty Members to join them for an Inter-Club at lunch a week from Friday, October 18th, at 12 noon. Cost is $16. They meet at the Court Cabaret at the corner of 1st St and Cocoanut. The Court Cabaret is 1 block north of the Florida Studio Theater and is associated with the FST at Palm & Cocoanut.
The scheduled speaker is Col. Kurt Hoffman from The Sarasota Sheriff's Office.

FL District Governor Elect Mary-Lynn Desjarlais is hosting a celebration for two Division Clubs at her home on Old Ranch Road in October. Manasota and East Sarasota Clubs will receive their charters. In addition, Club Officers and Boards will be installed. This is Siesta Key's October Social and a chance to show our support for the newest area Clubs and their leadership
The celebration is on Saturday afternoon, October 19th - 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Members, spouses, children and friends are of course welcome. Mary-Lynn has asked for $10 per person donation to help defray food expenses. This is a BYOB event. |
