Appleton's long-serving mayor, Tim Hanna, was the featured speaker at the May 12th meeting of the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis. Mayor Hanna, who exudes enthusiam for our fair city, made the focus of his presentation a virtual tour of Appleton.
Beginning with the new development by the river, the recent acquistion of several unused railroad trestles soon to become trails, the new Erb and Jones parks and wrapping up with the Fox Cities Exposition Center, Hanna kept the audience amused and excited by what 2017 and beyond is bringing to Appleton. 
Always a story teller, Hanna even left the audience in suspense when he mentioned that "something big" was coming to the bluff site currently occupied by Michiel's catering and Trinity Lutheran Church. "When the developer announces what's coming, it's going to open up a flood of new development downtown," Hanna said with a sly smile.
After a lengthy quesion and answer session, Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis President Anthony Snyder presented Mayor Hanna with an Honorary Certificate of Membership in thanks for all his support of the Kiwanis organization and his commitment to Appleton.
