The Fox Cities Kidz Expo returned to the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in downtown Appleton on April 6th and by all the smiles and laughs from attendees, this year’s event delivered.   The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis estimates that 6,000 attendees visited the Exhibition Center for a day of Fun, Education, and Adventure-the focus of the event.
This year the Fox Cities Kidz Expo provided more than 60 activity booths, displays and activities, over 20 mascots that engaged with attendees throughout the event, and an entertainment stage that was active with demonstrations, music and fun.  New to the event was S.T.E.A.M Alley (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) with over 20 vendors focused on S.T.E.A.M activities and education.
“We had a wonderful day at the Fox Cities Kidz Expo! The event exceeded our expectations as our numbers swelled to 6,000 participants this year!”  said Paul Shrode, a member of the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club and co-chair of the event.  “It was fun watching the excitement and wonder on the faces of children, eyes wide and grinning from ear to ear as they descended the escalator and entered the hall – so much to do and so much to learn. We have so many great family resources in the area and are blessed to collaborate with them to make this event a reality.
Jean Long Manteufel, co-chair of the event, mirrored Shrode’s observations of the day.  “The goal of the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis was to provide a free event for families that was educational, fun and adventurous, and I think we hit the mark.  We were so pleased by the number of families that came.  Hopefully, it was as much fun for the families as it was for all of us that did the planning.”
The success of the 3rd annual Fox Cities Kidz Expo could not happen without the support North Shore Bank, who was the Presenting Sponsor of the event and all the volunteers on the planning committee.  Organizers believe that the Fox Cities Kidz Expo is becoming an established part of the fabric of our community and we look forward to providing the event again in 2020.
