Congratulations to our member Paul Shrode on being recognized by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce for their Legacy Award.  Paul has been a long-term member of our club holding many leadership roles within our club, division, and is set to be the Governor of Wisconsin Upper Michigan Kiwanis.  
 
Congratulations to Paul Shrode on winning the Chamber's Legacy Award! This new award is presented to an outstanding member whose enduring dedication and visionary contributions have significantly shaped the success of the Fox Cities Chamber.
 
Shrode is a retired educator/college administrator and community service volunteer. The Michigan native moved to Appleton in 1982 to join the staff of Lawrence University, serving as Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Memorial Union for 25 years. He helped start the college’s Volunteer Center, opened the first campus store, and supervised the campus pub, among many other things. He concluded his 47 year career at Fox Valley Technical College as Director of Outreach Programs.
 
Shrode began service on the first Appleton's Octoberfest planning committee in 1982, and currently serves as Committee Chair. In addition to Octoberfest, he has been involved with a multitude of other community organizations, including Boy Scouts, Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club, Appleton Education Foundation Board, Fox Cities Rotary Multicultural Center board, and many more.
 
This prestigious honor celebrates an individual who has left an indelible mark on the Chamber’s history, inspiring future generations with their remarkable legacy of service and impact.
