Ryan Johnson and Taylor Kolasinski with the Menasha High School Key Club created a shoe drive fundraiser in February and their goal was to have 2,500 pairs of new or gently used shoes donated which will be sent to developing countries to help communities get out of poverty. The shoe donations help recipients earn money to get out of poverty and helps children go to school. This is beneficial for many countries who are less fortunate while also decreasing the number of shoes that end up in landfills by giving them a second life.
Ryan and Taylor recently visited the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club, their sponsor club, and they left the meeting with 162 pairs of shoe donations toward their cause.  Our club’s donation put Ryan and Taylor at 2,100 donated shoes so their goal is within reach.

As members of Menasha High School Key Club, Ryan and Taylor signify the power of Kiwanis by learning how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism.  The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club is proud to support all our eight Key Clubs, K-Kids, and Builder’s Club programs.
