UWO College of Business names Anthony Snyder Outstanding Alumni Award winner

Anthony Edward Snyder, the chief executive officer for the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, was recently honored with the 2022 University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business Outstanding Alumni Award.
The award recognizes a UWO business graduate who has made a significant contribution to a business or nonprofit organization, been involved in the community, helped develop other people and made a difference in an organization and/or community.
“In my current role, I work with individuals who are either unemployed, under-employed or unhappily employed. All my energy goes into looking for ways to help individuals get the support and training they need to find and keep a job that pays a living wage,” Snyder said. “We can solve so many other issues from homelessness to food insecurity and more by helping individuals become gainfully employed.”
Synder believes his most significant accomplishment with the development board has been restructuring the organization’s revenue stream to diversify funding and rely less on a single source.
“I’d like to think my knowledge, energy and enthusiasm, along with a constant desire to improve by testing and trying new things, will help move us to being more efficient, more nimble and more flexible. Doing so allows us to meet all kinds of challenges from shifts in funding, to COVID closures to Zoom board meetings.,” he said. “We will continue to improve not only the lives of those in our training programs but also get more skilled workers to the employers across our region who need them to be economically successful.”
Snyder also is involved in the community as a 15-year member of the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis, including serving as president, treasurer and numerous committee chairs. He has seven years of experience as a Cubmaster for his sons’ Cub Scout Pack in Appleton.
“Not only does Anthony exemplify the criteria for the College of Business Outstanding Alumni Award, but he also exemplifies the qualities and character traits outlined in each of the College of Business core values of engagement, professionalism, community, continuous improvement and integrity,” said Wendy Potratz, executive MBA cohort manager and senior lecturer. “Anthony’s hard work, dedication and positive impact on our community deserves this recognition.”
Snyder earned an MBA from UW Oshkosh and was part of the first Executive MBA cohort, which features a 12- or 16-month completion, weekend classes and cohort learning environment.
