The Satellite Club is an extension of the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club

The Satellite Club is designed for members and potential members who are unable to join the main club meeting and/or are interested in a more unstructured Kiwanis  meetings.  The Satellite Club Members meet at a local restaurant or venue to discuss local Kiwanis activities, fundraising events, or just have a chance at some great fellowship.

This committee is responsible for coordinating all planning, logistics, sponsor recruitment, activities, and vendors of this signature community project. The Kidz Expo is one of the three largest annual club fund-raising events. The funds raised provide a family event that is FREE, fun, educational and adventurous.

We need volunteers from 9a.m. / 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Typically, when we get there we help set up different items, then serve the food to those coming through the line.  Once they're done eating, we wipe down the tables and chairs.  It goes very quickly, and we always enjoy doing this.  

Volunteers will be required to wear a facemask while volunteering.

This committee meets regularly to plan and coordinate all aspect of The Butterfly Festival - Helping Families Fly event (morning event in June) at City Park. Join this passionate group of members (all types of skills are needed) that collaborate to organize the club's fundraising event.
 

The Menasha Key Club will be presenting their " Pancakes For A Purpose" Fundraiser.  Tickets can be purchased in advance and at the door for $10.00.  Hours of the event are 8:00am to 12:00pm at Menasha High School.  

Proceeds support the Fox Valley Humane Association. 

This will be considered an interclub if you attend and we would like to do this as a social.  If you are interested in having breakfast as a group, we will meet at 9:00am and have breakfast together.

On February 10^th, our meeting program will consist of the presentation of foundation checks to 3 organizations which will take about 15-20 minutes. We would like to take the remaining time to talk with the club regarding a membership drive using the "Two For Two” Kiwanis program.  Jen and Creative Downtown is one of the organizations who will be at the meeting therefore I need to get Izzy to school that morning and most likely will not get to the meeting until 7:40a-7:45a. 

I’m hoping that the membership committee can lead the discussion on "Two For Two” Kiwanis program with our members and I would like to see if this group is available for a meeting on Tuesday, January 31^st at 7:15am via Zoom so that we can talk about how we want to approach this discussion on growing our members.  If you are interested and able to attend, please let me know and I will send out the meeting and zoom information.

On February 1st, we will be attaching the informational posters on the Help For The Homeless donation boxes. These will be the boxes that our club will distribute as the campaign begins on February 12th.  Come and help us support our sponsored program.

The Family Radio Networks’ annual ‘Help for the Homeless’ hygiene drive is set to run February 12, 2023 – March 5, 2023 and is collecting new toiletry and cleaning products for local Wisconsin crisis agencies in Northeast and Central Wisconsin communities. People are encouraged to donate hygiene items at public collection sites, Festival Foods and Walgreens, as well as at work, church or school. Donations remain in communities where they are collected.
 
What We Need From You

• Each Kiwanian will select 5-7 locations (or more if you have the time) to deliver and set-up boxes during the time frame of February 3 - February 10
• Members will pick up boxes and posters at the February 3rd Kiwanis meeting or at the WEMI Family Radio Station offices at 1909 W. Second St. in Appleton, during the week of February 3-10. Business hours are M-F 8:30-4:30.  When you arrive at the radio station parking lot, there will be an enclosed trailer with the boxes.  Take what you need for your drop-off locations.  
• Boxes must be delivered prior to February 12^th, since that is the day the drive begins. The time commitment will be 1-2 hours depending on locations selected and number of volunteers.
• We had over 25 volunteers last year; let’s have that type of participation again.

Every year the WIUM Kiwanis District hosts 3 Midyear Conferences throughout the District as an opportunity for Kiwanians to gather and attend educational seminars, celebrate achievements from the previous year, build connections with other Kiwanians and clubs, elect Lieutenant Governors, support the District Foundation, and just have a ton of fun!

These conferences are a one day event, so we hope you will join us for our 2023 season of Midyears! This will also be when we present all those awards your clubs just applied for, so come ready to cheer as your club and your members receive recognition!

The Fox Cities Kidz Expo, a free community event featuring dozens of interactive and educational activities for children and families, will be back at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in downtown Appleton on April 9.

FUN -- Interactive activities & entertainment for children and parents. Activities include face painting, photos with favorite costumed characters, crafts, balloon animals, hands on exhibits, selfie stations, and on-going entertainment throughout the day!

EDUCATION -- Exhibitors will present engaging, interactive displays and activities, making it fun for families to participate.

ADVENTURE -- Interactive games, science projects, dinosaur experience, nature adventures and more!

Fox Cities Kidz Expo has more than 50 activity booths, displays and activities, play areas, an entertainment stage, balloons, face painting, demonstrations, giveaways, Kiwanis n' Cops n' Kids readings, food concessions and more! 

Get family photos with mascots and princesses, climb in a fire truck or police cruiser, check out the YMCA play station, or just get lost in the fun!
