The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club has installed a Little Kiwanis Food Library at First English Lutheran Church (326 E North St, Appleton).  Our club has committed to checking it on Thursdays and Fridays each week and make sure it is full (the church is taking care of all the other days).  We would get the food from the church's supply.  

The church office is open 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday-Thursday and 9:00am - 12:00pm on Friday.

The Satellite Club is an extension of the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club

The Satellite Club is designed for members and potential members who are unable to join the main club meeting and/or are interested in a more unstructured Kiwanis  meetings.  The Satellite Club Members meet at a local restaurant or venue to discuss local Kiwanis activities, fundraising events, or just have a chance at some great fellowship.

This committee meets regularly to plan and coordinate all food and beverages for the Appleton Car Club annual car show (all-day event in July) at Pierce Park. Join this passionate group of members (all types of skills are needed) that collaborate to organize one of the three largest annual club fundraising events.

The date of the 2022 Car Show is July 17, 2022.  
 

The Fox Cities Butterfly Festival is a family fun event held each June at City Park in Appleton, WI. All event proceeds benefit the Kiwanis “iPads for Autism” project and various local child-focused, non-profit organizations.

Families, children, and individuals attend the Fox Cities Butterfly Festival to learn about butterflies, participate in family-friendly games & activities and enjoy snacks.

The event culminates with a group butterfly release symbolizing the support of community groups and Kiwanis in their work and service to “Help Families Fly”.

History of the Event

The Fox Cities Butterfly Festival started in 2008 as a fundraiser to benefit Parent Connection, a program of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin. Parent Connection is a parent education and early learning program serving the Fox Valley and Oshkosh.

In 2019, Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin handed over the leadership and direction of the Fox Cities Butterfly Festival to the Appleton- Fox Cities Kiwanis Club. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The club has been serving the children of the Fox Cities and beyond since 1972.

The Appleton - Fox Cities Kiwanis has established the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis Endowment and Charitable Fund through the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. for the preservation of Kiwanis ideals, charitable contributions, and long-term community support. Our Endowment fund is set up for future charitable projects and the Charitable fund that allows more immediate use of funds.

Both of these funds provide the donor with a tax-deductible vehicle through which to contribute to Kiwanis and our programs.

Nothing warms the soul like a warm meal! If preparing food and serving is one of your strengths, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

We need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Typically, when we get there we help set up different items, then serve the food to those coming through the line.  Once they're done eating, we wipe down the tables and chairs.  It goes very quickly, and we always enjoy doing this.  

Volunteers will be required to wear a facemask while volunteering.

Highway Clean-up is a good project for members who want to do service work but have limited time and maintain social distancing. Usually we can complete our highway clean-up projects quicker when we have sufficient help.

Breakfast 7:15 am

8:30 – 11:00 am (variable depending upon volume and number of volunteers)
We’ll meet at County JJ, just east of Mayflower Drive. Bags, gloves, safety vests and poker sticks provided. Wear boots or good shoes. The road shoulder has some inclines and often wet spots. This is a good way to get to know your fellow Kiwanian, get a little exercise, and complete a service project.

The 44th Annual Appleton Old Car Show and Swap Meet is set for Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th in Pierce Park in Appleton.  Schedule is as follows:

Saturday, July 16th

• Food Truck Rally will start at 4:00pm and go until 9:00pm (trucks are still being finalized)
• Music by Cat 5 will start at 5:00pm and will go until 9:00pm. 
  • Cat 5 features four lead vocalists and more instruments that you can shake a tail at, Cat 5 covers all your favorites from today (Pink/ Bruno Mars/Meghan Trainor/Eric Church) to classic rock and country (Heart/Charlie Daniels/Journey/Johnny Cash). This is the band that can rock you like a hurricane and get you two-steppin’ to a Devil Went Down to Georgia fiddle-jam all in the same night. These Cats are hot.
• The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis will be selling beer, soda, and water during the Saturday night event.

Sunday, July 17th
The Appleton Old Car Show & Swap Meet features classic and antique vehicles, swap meet, vendor area, entertainment, trophy awards, and outstanding food concessions provided by the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club.

This is the largest free car show in the Midwest and annually draws over 15,000 people, nearly 1,200 cars on display. All proceeds go to support community activities and charitable functions distributed through the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis Club.

This is one of the major fundraisers for the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club. Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of jobs and locations to make this day a success so come for some or all of the day and don't forget those family members.

Volunteers should arrive at approximately 06:30 PM as the flight is scheduled to return at 8:20PM.

Kiwanians will be lining up directly after the military line. We will meet inside the terminal before the security check point. Directions will follow from there.

The volunteers from Old Glory are very appreciative of our participation. One of their goals is to have a line of folks welcoming the veteran's back that stretches all the way from the gate to the terminal entrance.

Once again our club will partner with the Appleton Rotary to staff a wristband/ticket sale booth at Octoberfest on September 25th.

For those who are new to this project, we check IDs and sell wristbands/tickets for beer during Octoberfest.  This is a great opportunity to provide service and market our club during the largest community event in Appleton.  

Math skills are the only requirement, but cheat sheets will be posted.  There are two shifts, AM from 9:00am - 1:00pm and PM from 1:00pm-5:00pm.  This is also our last fundraiser for a year.
