The Salvation Army is now serving lunch to people, and they need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Typically, when we get there we help set up different items, then serve the food to those coming through the line. Once they're done eating, we wipe down the tables and chairs. It goes very quickly, and we always enjoy doing this. |

Sep. 11, 2021 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Highway Clean-up is a good project for members who want to do service work but have limited time and maintain social distancing. Usually we can complete our highway clean-up projects in about an hour if we have sufficient help. |

Sep. 15, 2021 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Volunteers should arrive at approximately 06:30 PM as the flight is scheduled to return at 8:20PM. Kiwanians will be lining up directly after the military line. We will meet inside the terminal before the security check point. Directions will follow from there. The volunteers from Old Glory are very appreciative of our participation. One of their goals is to have a line of folks welcoming the veteran's back that stretches all the way from the gate to the terminal entrance. Anyone who wishes can stay to help with clean-up. Hope that you can join us. |

Dec. 02, 2021 - Dec. 04, 2021
When you think of Christmas and The Salvation Army, images of a red kettle and bell ringers probably form in your mind. Volunteers and donors make Christmas at The Salvation Army happen. Over the years, the Salvation Army has been fortunate to have the loyalty of many who return year after year to help by volunteering their time in a shift or two of bell ringing. Once again our club will have designated bell ringing times. The Thursday evening shifts will be on December 2nd and the Saturday morning shifts on December 4th. I know many Kiwanis members enjoy ringing with another Kiwanis member, or a family member. Kids especially seem to enjoy helping out, and what better way than to introduce them to “service” than by having them help you for an hour or two.

In 2019, the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club announced that we were assuming leadership of the event from Family Services of Green Bay. We had offered volunteer services for the event since its inception. Family Services recognized our dedication to raising funds for child-centered non-profit groups in our community and approached us to take it over. We embraced the opportunity immediately. The net proceeds from this event will benefit the Kiwanis "iPads for Autism" project and various local child-focused, non-profit organizations.
