In 2019, the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club announced that we were assuming leadership of the event from Family Services of Green Bay. We had offered volunteer services for the event since its inception. Family Services recognized our dedication to raising funds for child-centered non-profit groups in our community and approached us to take it over. We embraced the opportunity immediately. The net proceeds from this event will benefit the Kiwanis "iPads for Autism" project and various local child-focused, non-profit organizations. Highway Clean-up is a good project for members who want to do service work but have limited time and maintain social distancing. Usually we can complete our highway clean-up projects in about an hour if we have sufficient help. |

Park N Ride clean-up usually takes less than an hour, but I add time for travel to and from the site. Meet at Interstate 41 and CTH N. The Park N Ride lot is on N, just east of N at Evergreen Drive. Bags, gloves, safety vests and poker sticks provided. Wear boots or good shoes. Questions, call Paul Shrode, cell 920-809-2872 or email shrode@fvtc.edu. This is a good way to get to know your fellow Kiwanian, get a little exercise, and complete a service project. |

The Salvation Army is now serving lunch to people, and they need 6-7 volunteers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Typically, when we get there we help set up different items, then serve the food to those coming through the line. Once they're done eating, we wipe down the tables and chairs. It goes very quickly, and we always enjoy doing this. |
