The Center for Grieving Children is a safe place for children, teens and their families to find compassionate peer support, engage in commemorative activities, gain information about the grieving process, and express feelings and experiences in an accepting environment. Programing is provided at no charge to children, ages 3 - 18, and the adults who care for them. |

Volunteers should arrive at approximately 06:30 PM as the flight is scheduled to return at 8:20PM. Kiwanians will be lining up directly after the military line. We will meet inside the terminal before the security check point. Directions will follow from there. The volunteers from Old Glory are very appreciative of our participation. One of their goals is to have a line of folks welcoming the veteran's back that stretches all the way from the gate to the terminal entrance. Anyone who wishes can stay to help with clean-up. Hope that you can join us. |

If you are posting in a window, put two fliers back to back so that the car faces out both ways. Be sure to ask for permission first and pick high traffic locations if at all possible. Kiwanis supports an Event hosted by Family Services. Families, children, and individuals attend the event to learn about butterflies and participate in other games and activities. Near the end of the event , all who purchased a butterfly will revive their butterfly in a pre-packaged individual release box. Then as a group , everyone releases their butterfly. |

The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club sponsors a team in this unique baseball league, where every player gets a hit, runs the bases, and crosses the plate. Their motto is that “Every child deserves a chance to play baseball”. If you are looking to spending a few hours seeing why we volunteer and fund raise, take a few hours out of your week and join us at the final game of the season for the Miracle League players. Come cheer on the “Dodgers” who we sponsor, and all these special baseball players. Help us put a smile on their faces of all in attendance at the game, as we distribute free ice cream. The Miracle League of the Fox Valley is an organized baseball league for children ages 4-19 with cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Volunteers are needed to help the Community Clothes Closet "Cool for School" program. For the past several years, the Community Clothes Closet has provided new clothes, shoes, school supplies, and personal items to 1000 to 1500 needy children to prepare them to return to school. The Community Closet’s annual distribution of new clothes for students will be held on the following dates and times:
12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17th
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18th If you would like to volunteer to help at either or both of these times, please contact Diane at 920-731-7834 or diane@communityclothescloset.org with the dates and times you can work and she will put together her schedule and advise you when you are scheduled.
The Clothes Closet is located at 1465B Opportunity Way, Menasha (across the road from UW Fox Valley off Midway Road).
After you have completed your volunteer hours, please report when you worked and your hours to Paul Shrode (shrode@fvtc.edu) with a copy to Ron Steindorf (jrs232@prodigy.net) so he can report to the Community Services Committee on this project.
