Registration is now open for the Summerland Sweets 7.4K XC (and TriPower 3.2K) on Sept. 30th! We are looking for runners and volunteers and would appreciate if you volunteer for one of our races (Campbell Mtn. is the other) as we are the ones who put these on. Anyone wishing to volunteer for Summerland should e-mail Michael Berrisford at mikeeco@telus.net .

Date:         Sunday September 30, 2018

Time:         10 AM

      Day of race registration available 8:30 am - 9:30 am at race site.

Start and End:  Summerland Rodeo Grounds, Summerland, BC.

How to get to the Summerland Rodeo Grounds. From Highway 97 in Summerland, head west on Prairie Valley Road (Dairy Queen & Tim Hortons at intersection). Take the last exit on the roundabout, up the hill to the next roundabout, and continue westward on Prairie Valley Road. At Doherty Avenue turn right and then left onto Bathville Road. You'll see the signs for the KVR train station and the Rodeo grounds and turn left into the rodeo grounds.

Route details: This is the 7.4 Km course.

Courses for the 7.4K and 3.2K races consist of recreational and single track trails. There are washrooms at the start and medical support on site. Refreshments, awards and draw prizes after the races.
Entry fee:

Summerland Sweets 7.4K - $12
3.2K Fun Run - $8

Additional fee of $5 for day of race registration.

BC Athletic members deduct $3

RACE PACKAGE PICK UP RACE DAY ONLY STARTING AT 8:30 AM

Prizes:

First prize in each category 19+ in the 7.4K race is a bottle of fruit wine from Sleeping Giant Fruit Winery. Jam and syrup are the prizes for the 3.2K TriPower race and for the younger categories in the 7.4K race.

Preliminary results for the Peach City Runners Blossom 5 Miler & 10 Miler are now posted on the IRA website.  There are also photos courtesy of Vlad Zamecnik. Congratulations to all those who competed and a big thanks to our great sponsors and volunteers who helped put on this event!
Registration for the Peach City Runners Blossom 10 Miler & new 5 Miler to be held Sunday, May 13th is now open!  We've added a new distance this year for those who don't want to run from Naramata.  The 5 Miler starts at the Sicamous and goes up Vancouver Avenue, out along the KVR turning around at the cemetery and back.

We are also looking for volunteers for the event.  Aid station, traffic marshalling, start/finish setup/takedown , bib number pick-up and timing.  Those interested should e-mail Charlie Llewellyn at shecharlie@gmail.com .

Results for the Blossom 10 Miler are now posted.  Congratulations to Brad Bickley of Kelowna and Christine Conibear of Penticton as our overall winners.  A big thanks to RD Carrey Martin and all of her volunteers. Volunteer $25 Gift cards to Peach City Runners and the Craft Corner went to Dave Spalding and Lory Bloomquist and Sylvia Thompson got a New Balance shirt!  Thanks to the Interior Running Association for providing us with a volunteer gift card and the shirt.

Results for the Blossom 10 Miler are now posted. A challenging race this year, not only for the athletes but for the organizers. The busses and the portapotties did not arrive as promised, leading to a 20 minute late start. Congratulations to Jesse Bauer of Edmonton as the overall winner, after coming second at the Bare Bones Duathlon the day before! A big thanks to RD Carrey Martin and all of her volunteers. Winner of the $50 gift certificate to Earl's was David Nash.
