There were 27 members in attendance today with Les & Mindy visiting from the Aktion Club. Several happy dollars were shared by members and it was good to have Bob Schwarzkopf back in attendance. Vern reported a can deposit of $61.15 and over $3,000 for the budget year. Kiwanis Breakfast tickets and flyers were handed out for our event on Oct. 29th. The breakfast committee will meet on Sept. 27th at the Hog House beginning at 5:30pm. Silent Auction items are due next Wednesday or sooner. Setup for the auction will take place on Oct. 7th at the courthouse.
 
Vern reminded members of the donation photo opportunity at 4pm Thursday, Sept. 22 at the public library. We will be parking cars for the homecoming game this Friday at 6:45pm. President Palmer reminded members of the early breakfast next week (6:15am) and the Officer Installation to follow. Randy M. announced that we will be grilling for the Deal's Orchard Fall Festival on Oct. 8 & 9 from 10:30am-2:00pm both days.
 
Vicky Lautner had the program today. She invited Hollie & Linda to talk about our local Raccoon Valley Kiwanis Aktion Club. They provided some history on the organization and shared some of their many accomplishments and their scrapbooks. They also listed many donations of time and money that they have contributed back to Greene County over the years. They meet at the Masonic Lodge at 5:00pm on the first & third Monday's of the month. The current sponsors are looking for interested members and/or spouses that could provide leadership to our Aktion Club in the near future as they near retirement. Thanks to Vicky for lining up the program and to Hollie, Linda, and Tom for their time and dedication to the local Aktion Club!!
