Derrik Bauer had the program today. He invited Dan Towers from Greene County Conservation to speak to us about the Raccoon River Valley bike trail. When Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation announced the first distribution of charitable grants from the new casino's profits, the largest financial award for any project was $124,000 to Greene County Conservation, specifically to complete the paving of the nine gravel road crossings of the RRVT in the county. Dan said they are attempting to complete the paving of the remaining crossings as soon as possible. He also spoke about the Ruth Hanson Wildlife area which is 160 acres of timber in southern Greene county near Rippey. The area is open to public hunting and has a parking area. Thanks to Derrik and Dan for the update!
