There were 29 members present today with Les Reinhardt visiting from the Aktion Club. President S. Palmer opened the meeting with special occasions and several happy dollars were donated. The audit committee reported that the Kiwanis books are in good shape-thanks Bob Schwarzkopf! Linda reminded members about the Aktion Club Officer installation next week. Deb reported that she had heard from Vern Foje and Lois McAtee and they are doing well and send greetings from warmer places! There will be a Kiwanis board of directors meeting on Feb. 5th.

Dean Rogers had the program today. He introduced Naomi Mumuni, GCHS foreign exchange student from Ghana West Africa. Naomi is from the northern region of Ghana and is a member of the Dagboma Tribe. At home in Africa she lives with her parents, grandmother, two sisters and her brother. In Jefferson she lives with Kent & Danille Curtis and family. Naomi spoke about her country and her school. She shared a Google photo presentation with club members as she spoke and answered questions. More can be found about Naomi and her stay in Jefferson in the January 14th edition of the Jefferson Herald. Thanks to Naomi, Danille, and Dean for the interesting program!
