There were 27 members in attendance. Many special occasions were acknowledged by President Palmer and Happy Dollars shared. Vern reported a can drop deposit of $68.10. Hollie reported that the Aktion Club worked the Bell Tower Festival and Farmers Market in the last week. President Palmer shared that the gross sales income from the Kiwanis BTF Food stand was around $3,100 and that 24 members worked the booth sometime during the weekend.
Dr. Jim Gerdes had the program today. He invited Bob & Pam Clemons and Bill Monroe to share information about their April mission trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota which is the home of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe. This reservation is home to approximately 45,000 people. Fifty percent of the Oglala Lakota tribe is age 17 or younger. Thirty-nine percent of the house are without electricity or running water. Thanks to Bob, Pam, and Bill for the very interesting program!
