There were 24 members in attendance with Mark Fredrickson of Omaha visiting with brother Jack. Dan Benitz  reported a can drop deposit of $128.25. He also cleaned up the snow around the recycling enclosure. Thanks Dan! Hollie reported that the Aktion Club meeting was postponed to next Monday at the Harrison House and the program will be Relay for Life.
Tim Buenz had the program today. He asked Matt & Toni Wetrich to speak about the BOOST organization and also about RAGBRAI. BOOST is an acronym for Bringing  Optimism and Opportunity to Students and Teachers. The totally community-driven effort aims to benefit students and teachers of the Greene County Community School District. BOOST is an affiliate of the Greene County Schools Foundation, a 501c3 organization. 100% of the proceeds from this inaugural annual BOOST event will go toward enhancing, enriching, and supporting the quality of educational programs.

The BOOST Bash is slated for Saturday, March 24, at the Greene Room at Wild Rose Casino. The evening will include a social, a dinner, a celebration of the Greene County schools, recognition of positive things happening in the district, and live and silent auction.

Tickets for the inaugural BOOST Bash can be purchased online at www.boostgreenecountyschools.com or by mailing a check to Greene County Schools BOOST, PO Box 4, Jefferson, IA 50129. Checks should be made payable to the Greene County School Foundation with BOOST on the memo line. Tickets are $25 each. Thanks to Matt & Toni for sharing information and providing leadership for these events!
