There were 26 members in attendance today with Les visiting from the Aktion Club. Many Happy Dollars were shared by members. Vern was recognized for his recent Extra Ordinary Citizen award from Home St. Bank. Congrats! Vern reported a can deposit of $58.75 and passed around the Salvation Army Bell Ringing sign-up sheet for Dec. 8-9th. Hollie reported that the Aktion Club Hat & Mitten tree will be going up soon in the courthouse lobby. The Aktion Club will be holding their meetings at the Harrison House and are planning their Christmas Party on Dec. 13th at 5pm at the Elks Lodge. They will also be donating $200 to the ARC Food Pantry for turkeys!
Bill Steussy had the program today. He invited Chris Nelson, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Greene County HS to speak. Chris is a 2002 Jefferson-Scranton graduate and is beginning his 11th year as a basketball coach. In his first season at GCHS they went 14-8 last year. This year he has 46 kids in the program and they are looking at another winning season. They have their first home game on Dec. 1st vs. Gilbert. They recently completed a youth basketball program for students in grades 3-6th with around 60 kids participating. His HS players served as coaches for the youth teams. Thanks to Bill and Chris for the update! Good luck to the RAMS this season!
