OFFICIAL MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson, Iowa met in regular session at the Greene County Medical Center Education Room on September 8, 2023. President Mike Palmer called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM. Board members in attendance were Bill Raney, Don Van Gilder, Larry Teeples, Tim Buenz, Denny Hammen, Karen Shannon, Chad Stevens, Bill Monroe, Chad Butterfield and Jim Teusch. Vern Foje and Dan Benitz were also present. Board members Sherry Palmer, Bob Schwarzkopf,Hollie Roberts, Bill Steussy Clancy Clawsen were absent.

A motion was made by Hammen and seconded by Butterfield to approve the August board minutes as presented. Motion carried.

TREASURER
Raney shared August Ttreasurer’s report. Butterfield made a motion to approve the report as presented. Monroe seconded the motion. Motion carried. An Audit Committee (S. Palmer, Hammen, and Butterfield) will conduct an audit of the 2022-2023 financial statements. A motion was made by Butterfield, seconded by Monroe to approve the Audit Committe.

OLD BUSINESS
Officers and Directors: A motoin was made by Butterfield and seconded by Hammen to approve the slate
of officers and directors as presented:
Directors - Teusch, Clawsen, Pittman, S. Palmer
Officers - Past President: Mike Palmer, President: Bill Monroe, Vice President: Chad Butterfield, Vice President Elect: Chad Stevens Secretary: Karen Shannon, Treasurer: Bill Raney.
Copies for the Club - A motion was made by Monroe, seconded by Hammen to submit payment to Greene County Community Schools for copies made in the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
NEW BUSINESS
Budget Committee Report: On behalf of the budget committee (Raney, Hammen, Monroe, S. Palmer), Raney presented the proposed 2023-2024 budget. The budget was approved as presented following a motion made by Monroe, and a second by Butterfield.

Pancake Breakfast: Tickets and flyers are available
Skates Project: Benitz shared a need from the Greene County Elementary for storage cabinets to hold 90 pairs of roller skates for the PE department. A motion was made by Buenz, seconded by Monroe for the cabinets to be built and funded by Kiwanians. Benitz will develop a budget for the project.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing: This is being organized by Pastor Cunningham from the Baptist Church, and will be seeking Kiwanian volunteers on Friday evenings and Saturdays in December.
