OFFICIAL MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson, Iowa met in regular session at the Greene County Medical Center Education Room on September 13, 2024. President Bill Monroe called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM. Board members in attendance were Chad Butterfield, Denny Hammen, Mike Palmer, Sherry Palmer, Bill Raney, Hollie Roberts, Karen Shannon, Bill Steussy, Chad Stevens, Larry Teeples, Jim Teusch. Vern Foje was also present. Board members Tim Buenz, Clancy Clawson, and Kathy Pittman were absent.

A motion was made by Raney and seconded by Steussy to approve the August board minutes as presented. Motion carried.

TREASURER
Raney shared August Treasurer’s report. Butterfield made a motion to approve the report as presented. Teeples seconded the motion. Motion carried. Activity Fund checks are running low and will need to be purchased. The cost will be approximately $200. Hammen made a motion to approve the purchase, seconded by Stevens. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS
Pancake Breakfast - Planning and ticket sales underway. Building will be unlocked 5 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Copies for the Club - An approximate bill due to Greene County Community Schools for copies made in the 2023-2024 fiscal year was discussed. Karen will provide the invoice to Bill R. for payment.

Budget Committee Appointed: A Budget Committee (Raney, S. Palmer, Monroe, Stevens, Butterfield, Foje) was determined to set the 2024-2025 budget.

Funding Request: Greene County Elementary is seeking additional funding for the purchase of books for student distribution throughout the 2024-25 school year. Butterfield made a motion to provide an additional $500 to the GCE Ram Reader Program, making the total $1000. Seconded by Hammen. Motion carried. A photo opportunity for the club will be announced when the check is delivered.
